“New-type green feed additive—promoting transferrin” is a key new product research and development project undertaken by the Pizhou Animal Husbandry Research Institute. In 2007, it passed the expert appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangxi Province and won the Chinese invention patent. The product is a natural plant extract containing active ingredients such as glycocalyx, alkaloids, and terpene active peptides. Adding 0.3% to the full-price feed for livestock or poultry and 0.3% to drinking water can reduce the feed consumption of livestock and poultry by 10%. It can improve feed palatability, meat and body appearance of livestock and poultry, and improve the quality of livestock and poultry products. Compared with other antibiotic chemical feed additives, this product has many advantages such as no drug resistance, no side effects, no toxicity, no drug residue, no negative impact on the environment, etc., and it meets the requirements of environmental protection and promotes the development of animal husbandry. And food safety plays an important role. At present, the product has been promoted and applied in the majority of livestock and poultry farmers in our city and has been welcomed and praised by farmers. (Liu Yan)
