China's primary aluminum production slowed down

China's primary aluminum production slows down According to statistics from the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, China's primary aluminum output was 545,891 tons in June this year, which was a slight increase of 3,369 tons from the 542,522 tons produced in May, and the chain growth rate was only 0.6%. The month in which production has grown slowly. However, compared with the output of June last year, the growth rate is still as high as 23.5%. From January to June, the national output was 3.168 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 26.1%, and the growth rate was basically the same as last year. Judging from the statistics in June, the trend of accelerated production has begun to come to a standstill. Increased electricity prices, tight supply of electricity, and sluggish aluminum prices have, to a certain extent, begun to restrict the enthusiasm of aluminum producers to increase production. In the statistics of May, there were 14 aluminum plants that stopped production. By June, this figure had been expanded to 20. Obviously, with the passage of time, the ability of some small and medium sized aluminum mills to sustain losses has reached the limit. It is expected that with the arrival of the summer peak, the output will stop growing in the third quarter, but it will not necessarily drop significantly, and the average monthly output may remain at the level of 530-54 million tons.
