7.3 Repair process
Based on the damage, Timken has developed a rigorous repair process, the main repair processes include:
• Inner raceway grinding
• Inner raceway inspection and measurement
• Determine the outer race grinding size and the replacement rolling element size
• Outer raceway grinding
• Raceway inspection and inspection confirmation
• New rolling body manufacturing
• Clearance confirmation and adjustment
• Final assembly
• Bearing packaging
