Henan launches anti-terrorist operation

On May 5, Zhengzhou launched a large-scale "anti-riot" campaign aimed at severely cracking down on illegal and criminal activities, reducing crime hotspots, eliminating social risks, and ensuring the stability of public security across the city. This operation focused on several key areas, including counter-terrorism, online environment management, dispute resolution, and maintaining overall social stability. As part of the initiative, over 100,000 personnel from various departments—including police, community managers, traffic coordinators, patrol teams, and security guards—participated in the first major clean-up operation. They conducted checkpoint inspections, armed patrols in high-risk areas, and increased public security control to ensure the safety of the provincial capital. The focus of the campaign was on urban villages and the so-called “five small places”—small bathhouses, cafes, hotels, karaoke bars, and beauty salons—areas known for higher crime rates. Inspections were carried out thoroughly to identify and address potential threats. Additionally, the city strengthened management of floating populations, especially in internet cafes and small hotels, while also conducting street-level checks and patrols to detect suspicious behavior. Traffic order was also improved, with strict enforcement against drunk driving and other violations during peak hours. City leaders, including Huang Baowei, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee of the Zhengzhou Municipal Standing Committee, personally participated in night inspections in several villages, emphasizing the need for thorough and comprehensive checks. The operation followed the principle of “three meets, three don’ts, and three leaks” when inspecting rented houses in urban villages and communities. Every household and individual was registered, ensuring no one was missed. All temporary residents were required to provide detailed personal information, and any individuals without proper documentation were handed over to relevant authorities. At all city entrances and exits, nearly 300 checkpoints were set up by local police stations, working alongside comprehensive management forces. These checkpoints focused on identifying suspicious vehicles, individuals carrying prohibited items, and those without valid identification. Meanwhile, the traffic police department established 140 fixed checkpoints to enforce traffic laws and combat violations such as drunk driving and reckless driving. In addition, special reporting lines and email addresses were made available for the public to report any illegal activities, encouraging community involvement in maintaining public safety. The campaign demonstrated a strong commitment from both officials and citizens to create a safer and more stable environment in Zhengzhou.

Mini Centrifuge

A mini centrifuge is a laboratory equipment that is used to separate samples based on their density and size. It is a compact and portable device that can fit on a benchtop or in a small space. Mini centrifuges are commonly used in molecular biology, biochemistry, and clinical laboratories for various applications such as DNA extraction, protein purification, and cell separation. They typically have a capacity of up to 2 mL and can spin at speeds of up to 15,000 rpm. Mini centrifuges are ideal for small-scale experiments and are often used in educational settings or for fieldwork.
