Shenzhen FIYTA Precision Timing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. ("Fiiya") is a subsidiary of FIYTA (Group), a holding investment company under China Aviation Industry Corporation. Fiiya has played a key role in China’s aerospace achievements, participating in the design and manufacturing of the country’s first space watch in 2002 and later contributing to the Shenzhou series of spacecraft. In 2013, following the successful mission of Shenzhou 10, Fiiya launched a commemorative aerospace watch series, honoring China’s growing space ambitions.
As a high-tech enterprise with a strong aviation background, Fiiya faced unique challenges in R&D and manufacturing without any existing technical references. Over time, it built a comprehensive technical system for producing specialized aerospace watches for astronauts, breaking foreign monopolies and making China the second country after Switzerland to possess such advanced technology.
“Ensuring the security of design data and information is a critical concern,†said the head of Fiiya’s R&D Center. With the rise of domestic CAD technologies, Fiiya began exploring alternatives. Since 2006, they have closely followed Zhongwang CAD and fully adopted it in 2011. “Zhongwang CAD not only meets our needs for genuine software but also ensures data security and offers powerful features that align perfectly with our engineering requirements.â€
Zhongwang CAD now handles all two-dimensional design tasks related to process design, structure, and part design within Fiiya’s Design and R&D Innovation Center. “All our engineering drawings are completed using Zhongwang CAD,†noted the chief engineer. “From an engineering perspective, its functionality matches international standards and can replace foreign CAD systems, fully meeting our design demands.â€
A senior engineer involved in the Shenzhou series projects praised the ease of transition to Zhongwang CAD. “Its shortcut keys and commands are similar to those of foreign CAD software, which made the learning curve very smooth. We experienced almost no obstacles when switching.†This adaptability is crucial for maintaining high design efficiency, especially given the extreme precision required in aerospace watch components.
During interviews, Fiiya engineers provided valuable feedback to Zhongwang Software, highlighting the potential for deeper collaboration. They expressed interest in the upcoming Zhongwang CAD+2014 version and hoped for further technical exchanges between the two companies. With mutual trust and shared goals, Zhongwang CAD is expected to play an even greater role in future aerospace and other high-tech projects, helping to showcase the strength of China’s own brands on the global stage.
