Bathroom waterproof construction practice

1. Ground Preparation

Before applying any waterproofing, it's essential to properly level the ground. An uneven surface can lead to cracks and leaks due to inconsistent coating thickness. Pay special attention to joints, corners, and around pipes—these areas are prone to movement and require highly flexible waterproof coatings to ensure long-term effectiveness.

2. Wall Treatment

Apply a waterproof coating on the walls up to about 30cm high to prevent moisture from seeping into the structure. If your bathroom has a shower area, extend the waterproofing to at least 180cm. For bathtubs, make sure the adjacent wall is also waterproofed up to 30cm in height. This helps avoid water damage and mold growth over time.

3. After Applying the Waterproof Layer

Once the waterproof layer is applied, allow sufficient time for it to cure and bond with the surface. This ensures better integration with the building structure. Afterward, install a protective layer before laying tiles. During construction, be careful not to damage the waterproof layer. Protect it as much as possible to maintain its integrity.

4. Hidden but Critical

Waterproofing is a hidden project, which means it's easy to overlook or accidentally damaged during later stages. Once floor tiles are laid, avoid breaking them to access the waterproof layer. Instead, use professional sealants to fill all gaps and ensure proper waterproofing. The same applies to any future work on the bathroom’s waterproofing system.

5. A Systematic Approach

Waterproofing is a comprehensive process, and each area may have different causes of water intrusion and varying solutions. The quality of materials used is fundamental, but the success of the project largely depends on the skill and care taken during installation. Reliable after-sales support is also crucial for long-term performance.

Bathroom Waterproofing Materials

First, pour reinforced concrete for the floor base. This provides a solid foundation for the entire waterproofing system.

Second, apply a 1:3 cement mortar slope layer, with a minimum thickness of 20mm. Ensure the slope directs water toward the drain for efficient drainage.

Third, use Leibang Shi acrylic polymer cement-based waterproof paste. This material offers excellent adhesion, flexibility, and durability, making it ideal for bathroom environments.

Fourth, lay a 30mm thick dry cement mortar bonding layer to secure the tiles and provide additional protection to the waterproofing system.

The meter consists of mass flow sensor and transmitter. Mass flow sensor is a phase-sensitive resonant sensor based on Coriolis effect, composed of vibration tube, signal detector, concussion driver, structural support, shell, etc.

Mass flow transmitter is a micro-programming-centered electronic system, which supplies thrust to sensor, transforms sensor signal into mass flow signal & others, and improves accuracy in accordance with temperature parameter.
It`s composed of switching power supplier, guard grating, core processor board, display module, etc., installed in a ex-proof junction box. Switching power supply offers power for transmitter; safe grating isolates sensor and transmitter intrinsically; core processor detects & processes sensor phase signal, sends mass flow signal and process communication.
