Since the start of this year, the Anhui Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau has been conducting inspections on helmet manufacturers in the province that hold the special labor protection article safety certification, as required by the State Administration of Work Safety. Experts were brought in to assess the quality and safety of sealed samples from these companies.
In line with the "Notice on Launching the Inspection and Testing of Sealed Samples for Hard Hat Manufacturing Enterprises in 2013" (Luan Supervisor Letter [2013] No. 198), several municipal safety supervision bureaus, including those in Hefei, Ganzhou, Huaibei, and Ma'anshan, carried out sampling and testing on 11 helmet manufacturers. The inspection focused on key safety parameters such as wearing height, vertical spacing, impact absorption performance under high and low temperatures, wear resistance, and weight. All tested products met the required standards, achieving a 100% qualification rate.
Alongside the sample testing, local authorities also conducted on-site inspections of labor protection equipment currently in use across industries such as metallurgy, chemical production, non-coal mining, and construction. They addressed cases where workers were not following safety protocols, such as improper helmet usage, and took action against companies that failed to provide certified safety equipment.
