According to sales representatives, these floors are typically made from materials such as PVC, cork, and composite plastics. Their soft texture and porous surface help absorb sound, making them ideal for households with elderly individuals or children. A professional from the Home Depot Building Materials Market in Nankai District mentioned that walking on wooden floors tends to produce more noise compared to tiles. Some of the quiet floorboards available on the market use advanced technology to minimize this noise, thus meeting consumer demands for quieter living spaces.
However, during a survey, it was found that most sellers of silent floors emphasize their sound-absorbing and noise-reducing properties but fail to provide any official certification from a recognized testing organization. One dealer admitted that while some silent floors do offer some level of noise reduction due to their soft material and uneven surface, there is still no established standard for measuring "floor silence."
