British scientists successfully realize the use of sound waves to generate power when making calls

South Korean scientists proposed four years ago that the future mobile phones could be charged by sound waves and developed prototypes using sound wave charging technology. According to Hong Kong’s “Oriental Daily” reported on August 14th, scientists at Queen Mary University and Nokia in the United Kingdom recently used similar technologies to successfully sonicate nanomaterials made of zinc oxide to generate electricity. In time, people are expected to “charge the phone” while charging the phone.

The scientists applied liquid zinc oxide to the film. The film was then placed in a mixed chemical and heated to 90 degrees Celsius. The zinc oxide formed a row of nanorods. The nanorods are then sandwiched between two power contacts, and the nanorods generate electrical power through vibration.

Four years ago, Korean scientists used zinc oxide to make a nanowire sandwiched between two electrodes and vibrate the nanowire with a sound wave of 100 decibels, generating about 50 millivolts of current, but not enough energy to charge the cell phone. .

Through this new breakthrough in this technology, everyday background sounds, such as car sounds, music and human voice, can collect 5 volts of energy, enough to charge the mobile phone. If this technology is popularized in the future, the voice and laughter of “listening to the phone” can be converted into electricity to charge the mobile phone and facilitate the public.
