LONDON, November 18: Dealers said that the London Metal Exchange (LME) copper was hovering near record highs early Friday, and that China had to cover speculation about the huge airdrops that could cause losses of $200 million. Continue to support the market.
Traders said: "The copper price is currently testing 4,185 US dollars, which is the highest point yesterday. However, the short-term goal of conquering the 4,200 level seems to be a matter of lasting stability."
The State Reserve Bureau of China is currently the focus of the market. Market speculations have been made on behalf of a trader of the State Reserve Bureau to establish an airdrop site of 1,500 to 200,000 tons, but in fact the price of copper has risen again and again.
However, LME copper stocks currently only 64,350 tons, is not enough to achieve delivery, and traders said, it is also impossible to achieve timely delivery of copper and registration of warehouse receipts.
At 0760 GMT, the three-month copper for the LME was at 4,170/80, up 26 dollars from Thursday's composite trading late in the day.
Three-month aluminum oscillated due to a huge increase in stocks in the past two days, but still managed to hold above the $2,000 level.
The LME trader Triland Metals stated in the report: “Currently it is at a neutral level between 1,990 and 2,030â€.
Three-month aluminum reported 2,010/15 per tonne, up 3 dollars.
