On September 4, Yuan Longping, a renowned expert in hybrid rice breeding and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited Chongren County in Jiangxi Province. He inspected the fourth-phase super rice project, specifically the 1,000 kg per mu subproject, located in Guanqiao Village, Guoyu Township. This initiative is the sole fourth-phase super hybrid rice project in Jiangxi Province under the National Hybrid Rice Center led by Yuan Longping. The project spans 128 mu, and this year it is expected to yield approximately 900 kg per mu. During his visit, Yuan Longping expressed satisfaction with the rice's growth and emphasized the importance of continuing research to achieve higher yields. He remains optimistic about reaching the target of producing 1,000 kg per mu of fourth-generation super rice by 2015.
