On September 4, Yuan Longping, a renowned expert in hybrid rice breeding and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, visited Chongren County in Jiangxi Province. He personally inspected the fourth-phase Super Rice project of the National Hybrid Rice Center Yuanlongping, which was being demonstrated in Guanqiao Village, Guoyu Township. This particular project is the sole initiative of the fourth phase of Yuanlongping's super hybrid rice in Jiangxi. The experimental area spans 128 mu, and this year, it is expected to yield approximately 900 kilograms per mu.
Yuan Longping expressed satisfaction with the current growth of the super rice, noting that the plants are in excellent condition. He emphasized his goal of achieving a yield of 1,000 kilograms per mu for the fourth-generation super hybrid rice by 2015. His visit not only highlighted the progress of the project but also underscored the importance of continued research and development in increasing rice productivity.
