How does the torque-limiting fluid coupling transmit power?

Briefly explain how the torque-limiting coupler works

The essence of the torque-type fluid coupling is the combination of the centrifugal pump and the turbine, which is mainly composed of an input shaft, an output shaft, a pump wheel, a turbine, a casing, an auxiliary cavity and a safety protection device. One end of the input shaft of the coupler is connected to the power machine, and the other end of the coupler is connected to the pump wheel; one end of the coupler output shaft is connected to the turbine, and the other end is connected to the working machine. The pump wheel on the coupler is symmetrically arranged with the turbine, and a certain number of blades are arranged in the wheel. The coupler housing is fixedly connected to the pump wheel to form a sealed chamber, and the coupler chamber is filled with working fluid to transmit power. The safety device such as fusible plug and explosive plug can ensure that the coupler does not have an accident when it is overloaded. When the power machine drives the coupler pump wheel to rotate through the input shaft, the working liquid filled in the working chamber of the coupler is double-acted by the centrifugal force and the working impeller, and is accelerated and pressurized from the inlet of the pump wheel with a small radius inside the coupler cavity. The pump wheel outlet with a larger radius, at the same time, the momentum moment of the liquid in the coupler is increased, that is, the pump wheel converts the mechanical energy input by the power machine into liquid kinetic energy. When the working fluid with liquid kinetic energy is rushed to the opposite turbine by the pump wheel outlet in the coupler, the liquid flow impacts the turbine blade to rotate in the same direction as the pump wheel, that is, the liquid kinetic energy is converted into mechanical energy, which drives the turbine to rotate. And drive the work machine to do work. The working fluid that releases the kinetic energy of the liquid flows from the turbine inlet in the coupler to the turbine outlet and re-enters the pump wheel inlet to begin the next circulating flow. In this way, the working fluid in the coupler is continuously spirally circulated between the pump impeller and the turbine, so that the output and input of the coupler are flexibly connected together with the liquid kinetic energy without any mechanical connection.
