Diamond Prospecting Seminar held in Susie

Abstract On July 13th and 14th, a seminar on the deployment of diamond prospecting work and on-site inspection was held at the Suzhou International Hotel, focusing on the Tanlu Fault Zone (Suyu Section). The event brought together key officials from various geological and land resources departments. Li Jinfa, Deputy Director of the China Geological Survey, Li Xuewen, Director of the Anhui Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration, Pan Haibin, Deputy Director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Land and Resources, Pan Zhengqin, Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Land and Resources and Director of the Jiangsu Provincial Geological Survey, all attended the meeting. Zhang Dongyun, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Executive Deputy Mayor, also participated and delivered a speech.
The seminar, jointly organized by the China Geological Survey, the Anhui Provincial Department of Land and Resources, and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Land and Resources, aimed to review and analyze the preliminary achievements in diamond exploration within the Tanlu Fault Zone (Suyu Section). Based on a comprehensive assessment of the region's diamond resource potential, the meeting emphasized strategic planning for future exploration efforts. Li Xuewen highlighted the importance of strengthening diamond prospecting, noting that the discovery of diamond-bearing ultrabasic rock masses in Suzhou, Anhui, marked a significant breakthrough. The China Geological Survey will continue to play a key role in promoting diamond exploration through strategic selection, prospective investigations, and targeted evaluations. Zhang Dongyun emphasized the municipal government’s full support for the diamond prospecting initiatives in the Tanlu Fault Zone. He pledged to provide quality services, ensuring sustainable development of mineral resources, energy conservation, and green practices, which would contribute to the city's long-term economic growth and the goal of building a well-rounded moderately prosperous society. It is reported that both sides of the Tanlu Fault Zone are major regions for diamond deposits in China. In late 2010, the Baqiaoqiao Railway Town discovered an original diamond deposit, marking a major milestone in diamond exploration in Anhui Province. This discovery has sparked renewed interest and investment in the area, with ongoing efforts to unlock its full potential for national mineral resource development.
