According to Magnis, the ultra-high-speed rechargeable lithium-ion battery developed in cooperation with Charge can make the operation of electric vehicles more flexible by shortening the charging time. In addition, the battery can also bring more convenience to electric vehicle drivers, and may increase the vehicle's running time (endurance).

Recently, Magnis has accelerated plans to build an iM3TSV battery plant near Townsville, Queensland, Australia, and the Woodstock 18GWh lithium-ion battery plant has also received strong support from the state government and received US$3.1 million in investment grants. According to Magnis, the plant is expected to cost more than US$3 billion and can directly create 1,150 jobs.
Magnis’s partner, Charge, has always been at the “frontier†of fast-charging battery technology research and development, and is also committed to maximizing battery charging efficiency and battery life.
The battery uses Charge's proprietary high-voltage biomineralized lithium metal-phosphate hybrid cathode and anode materials. The final user system-level test will be carried out in the next few months.
First, a prototype battery pack of 25 to 50kWh (about the size of a Nissan Leaf model battery pack) will be tested. Its energy density is 99% of the energy density of existing lithium-ion batteries, which is equivalent to the range of a battery of the same size.
