EIA: U.S. gasoline exports hit a record high in August

According to a report by Dow Jones NEW York, the latest statistics released by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the US Department of Energy on October 28 showed that the US’s net exports of gasoline and distillate fuel reached a record high in August.

In the United States, demand for gasoline fell by 3.8% in August and fell to a new low of 8.907 million barrels in the past 12 years, allowing US oil refining companies to export more of the gasoline and distillate fuels that are not needed in the domestic market to foreign markets.

According to EIA statistics, the US’s average daily net export of gasoline was 430,000 barrels in August, which was 5 times the same period last year and an increase of 77% from July this year.

According to statistics, the average daily net exports of distillate fuel (diesel/heating oil) reached a record 74.7 million barrels in August, and the daily export volume exceeded 300,000 barrels in the same period of last year and 10,000 barrels in July of this year.

The Netherlands is the largest importer of US distillate fuel, with an average daily import of 144,000 barrels, which is the highest daily import volume since April of this year. Mexico is the second largest importer of US distillate fuel, with an average daily import of 112,000 barrels, an increase of 30% year-on-year, the highest daily import since October last year.
